Fancy yourself a Harry, a Hermione or Ron.. maybe even a Malfoy? When it comes to classic games, one of my top 3 games is Scrabble. It also brings back memories of playing around the table with the family of nerds, cottage breaks away, ideal dates and fireplaces. There’s not much you can do with a classic like Scrabble..except.. well I guess we could add. WIZARDRY! *gasp*

A Scrabble Dictionary
Name of The Game

This week I will be reviewing Harry Potter Scrabble Special Edition
So, what does Harry Potter Scrabble have that standard scrabble doesn’t?
- A glossary of words from the Wizarding world that earn you bonus points
- A Special wizarding Scrabble board
- 4 trays that represent the Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
- HP Hogwarts cards
- Spells and Potions to flummox opponents

So, I am HOPING you know how to play scrabble (I really am), so I won’t go into the whole spiel of that. This game runs the same, you could play it the same or you could play with the special cards that bring a twist to the games.
There are HOGWARTS squares and going over them lets you pick up the special Harry Potter Cards
E.g.
- You could play special glossary words for bonus points. Leading to one of us saying “ Please use Quaffle in a sentence”.
- Confound your opponents by playing a word from back to front
Views of The Game
As a scrabble and a Harry Potter fan this is a fun little edition that isn’t just a nod to the Harry Potter World but fully embraces the fun of it. They really tried to be creative with the edition. If I compare it to the different editions of Monopoly (of which I have 74,000) – it adds something more to the original game.

It is extremely hard to try and get your head around placing the special words on the board, Engorgio? Patronus? Really? But that’s what adds to the fun of it.
I think this is going to be a staple for nights in and family game nights.
It’s Leviosa fun (ridiculous)
Have you played Harry Potter scrabble or do you have any recommendations on what board games will get our juices flowing?
